Two stepin....

So today as I was mixing, some of my friends were trying to tell me that I should focus on making Dub step because "it is the best electronic music ever" and that what I was listening to was crap. I honestly don't see the value in Dub step... What is so good about it? All it is is two beats repeated. In my opinion it is not even music. If you like dub step comment why I should enjoy two beats repeated awkwardly. In the mean time have some real music.

  1. Dubstep is way overrated. I like the video, especially the beginning. I'm definitely following and coming back for more.

  5. yeeeeeeeea i probably wouldn't listen to your friends. it's important that you make music for YOURSELF FIRST. how can they tell you that the music you're listening to is crap. just sounds close minded and looking for a fight. as for dubstep... i personally was drawn to it because producers like half a decade ago were coming up with great granular sounding to underwater synth textures with a really bass heavy atmospheric style in the same vein as oldschool dub. producers have been really exploiting those buzz wobbles and heavy snares lately so i can see how you feel pretty meh about it. i just say explore yourself and try to dig deeper into things because there's almost always much more beneath the surface.

  8. Have you seen the video of Rusko apologizing for creating "brostep"? I'm all for dubstep, but it's more of the melodic drum-oriented kind, not the heavy drop stuff everyone likes now.

  10. I love dubstep, it's really headed in the right direction at the moment.

It's a lot slower than the song you posted, but at the same time the bass blows you away.
